Industrial Toxicology Research Centre (ITRC)Lucknow is a constituent laboratory of Council of  Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India.It was established in 1965. Its main campus is located near Hazratganj and another campus, Gheru campus is situated on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway.

Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) Lucknow, is one of the pioneer research institutes under the realms of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).The Institute came into existence way back in 1957 and since then has heralded several important research work in the field of bio-medical research. CDRI is a multifaceted research laboratory consisting of scientific personnel of varied disciplines of biomedical sciences.

The Institute has 17 R & D divisions and some technical and scientific support divisions. Apart from that there are 2 data centers and 1 field station located outside CDRI aimed to assist in operational support. The Institute has rendered its valued infrastructure and expertise to develop a drug right from its conceptualization to its marketing. It employs the very latest techniques and methodologies for developing drugs, diagnostics and vaccines which act as a vanguard in preventing diseases prevalent among mankind in general and Indian population in particular.

Although the institute is currently housed in Chattar Manzil, a populous place in Lucknow, the upcoming campus at Sitapur Road plans to give the institute a new look with state-of –the-art-facilities.

Regional Science City, Lucknow was dedicated to the nation by Shri Nakul Dubey, Minister for Culture, Urban Development, Shahri Samaggra Vikas, Institution Finance, Trade Tax, Entertainment Tax and Environment, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh on Sept 21, 2007. Three galleries - "Underwater Exploration""Biotechnological Revolution" and "Being Human" have been added to the existing facilities in Regional Science Centre, which has been upgraded as Regional Science City. There are also two major attractions - 3-D Science Show andLarge Format Film Projection system, first of its kind in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Space Theatre shows a large format film on Niagara Falls.

Speaking on the occasion during his inaugural address, the Minister commended the efforts of National Council of Science Museums and said that learning is done through the process of hands-on activities and discoveries. He mentioned about knowledge enrichment that the visitors can attain by interacting with a series of exhibits on different scientific subject. 

Smt Ambika Soni, Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, in her message, complimented the efforts of National Council of Science Museums in developing a state-of-the-art Regional Science City in Lucknow. The Minister also appealed to the public at large and students in particular to take best advantage of the facilities for enhancing the understanding of science.
